DuVAL COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Gilbane, in partnership with Zyscovich, LLC, and Duval County Public Schools, constructed the new Chaffee Trail Middle School as part of a $1.7 billion capital improvement program funded by a half-cent sales tax. The $50 million project included a 124,259-square-foot middle school on a 32.3-acre site, complete with new athletic fields and sports courts. Built with sustainability in mind, the facility followed the Green Globes’ high-performance rating system and opened for the 2024 school year to support the growing Duval County community.

Acuity Design Group (ADG) played a key role in the project by providing comprehensive Construction Communications services. ADG managed public relations, fostered community engagement, and maintained transparency throughout the construction process. By keeping the community informed of project milestones, organizing key events, and using strategic communication channels, ADG built strong community support and ensured a positive public perception of the project. This proactive approach contributed to the successful completion of the Chaffee Trail Middle School.
